Product Description
BlackBerry Curve 8520 White Design & Highlight
The new BlackBerry Curve 8520 comes with a mix of high-end functionality and some unique features for ultimate mobile communication. The phone’s design sensibilities are very sleek and slim. The great aesthetics include a super smooth Optical Trackpad feature, a well designed QWERTY keyboard and some strategically placed media controls. The phone measures 4.3 inches in length and 2.4 inches in width. At 3.7 ounces, the phone is lightweight enough to be slipped into your pockets or gripped in your hands. The suave soft finish of the phone not only makes a good grip but also makes the phone look like a million bucks. The Curve comes armed with a fully backlit QWERTY keyboard. The keyboard consists of smaller than usual keys which are clustered close together so that there is a lot of ease while typing.
The phone’s QVGA display screen measures 2.4 inches comes with a burst of more than 65,000 colors. This makes the screen appear crystal clear and bright. Just beneath the display screen is the Optical Trackpad function between the talk and end buttons. On top of the phone are the independent media controls. You can manipulate your music or video player by using the play, pause, and playback buttons from the top without having to enter the phone’s menu. How convenient is that?
Optical Trackpad Feature
The coolest feature of the new Curve 8520 is perhaps the Optical Trackpad function. The feature is an upgrade from trackball navigation used in the previous versions of the Curve. This feature is ideal for navigation and comes in use when you ask your device for detailed turn-by-turn directions. At the swish of your fingers, the track pad comes to life and takes you on a roller-coaster ride through menus, shortcuts and functions on the phone. What’s more, you can even adjust the sensitivity of the track pad to your touch and even press it down to select specific functions. .
Connectivity
For professionals who have to jet set around the globe on work, the BlackBerry Curve is the perfect companion. It offers international roaming with its quad band network compatibility. Super fast download speeds are available via GPRS 2G, and EDGE networks. This high speed connection is good enough to support a range of high-end data services such as streaming of music and video clips, connect to other phones wirelessly, full HTML web browsing and email services. The Bluetooth wireless technology (v2.0) available on the phone allows you to use headsets and handsfree sets and also transfer files and data to another Bluetooth enabled phone.
MyFaves Service
T-Mobile’s most popular myFaves service joins hands with the BlackBerry Curve. The myFaves service lets users make unlimited calls to five of their contacts who have other carrier connections. And what’s more! The service is also available as a family service where you can connect with all your loved ones. Don’t care for regular mobile conversation, how about some wireless talk? Thanks to the Curve’s Wi-Fi connection you can now make calls galore wirelessly at all T-Mobile Hot Spots.
Browsing & Email Features
The hall mark of any BlackBerry device is of course its superior email solutions. The Curve is no different. The phone can seamlessly synchronize with your office networks (BlackBerry Enterprise) and comes with support for IBM Lotus, Microsoft Exchange and Novell GroupWise The coolest feature probably is the fact that your emails get delivered to your phone almost at the same time you might receive it in your regular inbox. The internet service from BlackBerry allows users access to ten personal and work email accounts. Along with great email service, the phone lets users send and receive text, multimedia and instant messaging too. The Curve is preloaded with instant messaging handles such as Windows Live, Google Talk, Yahoo!, ICQ, and AIM.
Attachment Viewing
Now your work will not come to a halt once you step out of office. You can still continue receiving official documents as attachments to your phone. The Curve’s attachment viewer lets you open and read attachments in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, Word Perfect, Corel, JPEG, GIF, and PDF. Powered by the BlackBerry Operating System (v.4.6.1.259), the phone gives you the option of creating documents provided you upgrade to the Premium Edition from the current Standard Edition.
