BlackBerry Pearl 8110 Red for AT&T
The BlackBerry Pearl 8110 Red for AT&T is a fantastic addition to the BlackBerry Pearl series of cellular phones. Just like its predecessors, the 8110 is a super-slim, ultra-light upgrade to the very successful Smartphone – the BlackBerry Pearl. This phone is not just about great features from previous phones, but it also includes GPS – a new addition to the Pearl devices. Like all BlackBerrys, the Pearl is superb for mobile email. It appears that this is the specialty feature for the next generation of business phones. But don’t think of the 8110 Titanium as just a business phone. As the name suggests, the Red BlackBerry is packed with loads of fun stuff you can do using the cell phone, including a fantastic camera that can rival an ordinary snapshot digital camera, Bluetooth for quick transfer of files to your PC, a music player (built-in) and SureType QWERTY keyboard for some nice, comfortable typing when you’re away from the office. But that’s not all. The best part is that it only weighs a minimal 3.2 ounces – not bad for something you can carry into a business meeting without your attaché case.

Product description
Nice Design
When you open your new BlackBerry Red 8110, you will find a number of items in the box - a USB cable, CD-ROM software for your phone, Hands-Free Headset, wall charger, and a Li-Ion battery.
The first thing you might notice about the BlackBerry Pearl 8110 Titanium for AT&T is its color main display, which has a high resolution of 240 x 260 pixels and consists of more than 65,000 colors. The cell phone itself is base red, which is nice and fun color in itself – sure to catch attention your way. The phone style comes in both Candy Bar and PDA and comes with a BlackBerry Factory Warranty.
Advanced Features
A nice thing about the speakerphone function is that you can cut costs for your calls by having several people join in on a conversation. This also works well in a small conference call setting as well. What’s more? The Pearl 8110 has voice-activated dialing. Incidentally this model is the first BlackBerry with this function. And like your average cell phone, this Smartphone comes fully equipped with a To-Do List, Alarm, Calculator, Calendar, a Vibrate function, and a Digital Camera.
Camera
By the way the digital camera is 2.0 Megapixels and has an automatic flash plus a 5x Digital Zoom and a Self-Portrait Mirror – what more could you ask for in a cell phone camera than one that takes self portraits. And the flash helps a lot, particularly in night photography – this is an edge over other camera phones if you’re serious about photo taking.
Email and Messaging Features
The email facility on the 8110 includes an email client, which is a ‘push’ real-time email, integrated with up to 10 accounts and is business secured – includes POP3, SMTP, and IMAP support. The Blackberry also includes Text Messaging (SMS) along with Group Messaging support. The Instant Messengers on the phone are Yahoo Messenger and Google Talk – these come with the phone pre-loaded.
One of the really nice aspects is the Mobile Web Browsing, which is great because you get to browse the Net at your convenience without having to hook on to a PC. Plus the BlackBerry Red offers Full HTML Web browsing, One-touch Access, Bookmarks, and BlackBerry Maps Support.
Multimedia
The phone also supports Streaming Multimedia, which allows for Video Playback of MPEG4 and H.263 format files. Apart from the streaming multimedia MP3 Player, it also supports AAC, AAC+, eAAC+, AMR-NB files and has Polyphonic Ringtones with 32 Chords. Polyphonic ringtones are an enhancement from ordinary ringtones, which most people get tired of quickly, soon after buying their handset. The phone also enables Downloadable MP3 Ringtones and has a Ringer Profile and a Picture Caller ID. The Titanium 8110 is also a good cell phone to play games on – downloaded Java Titles are supported. The BlackBerry comes with custom graphics and you can also download them from the Internet.
Technically Sound Gadget
The BlackBerry Pearl 8110 Red comes with a 2.5mm Headset Jack and Stereo Support. It also has a Mini-USB Port. The Application Platform is Java, while the Platform / Operating System on the 8110 is BlackBerry OS supplemented with Intel XScale Processor. The Data Download Speed can go as high as 144 Kbps, which is not a bad speed, considering the fact that you’re downloading onto a cell phone. Of course, there are compromises to multi-functionality as well. And here the ubiquitous BlackBerry gives out to the more improved functionality of a PC for advanced users who just do a lot of surfing and downloading from the Net. The Pearl Red is internationally compatible too.
Additional features
The Pearl 8110 also offers Predictive Text Entry as an option. SureType Predictive Text Entry offers more control on your typing and texting requirements. The 8110 can go up to 3G Data Speeds and has a Memory of 64 MB; don’t forget that the BlackBerry also allows for Online Photo Storage, which is a great way to store all your stuff – not just photos, but music and videos and other files as well. However, if you’d like to expand the memory, the 8110 offers Expandable Memory Capacity with a MicroSD Card. By the way, this BlackBerry Red 8110 is phenomenal in the way it is sized – dimensions 4.0 in x 2.0 in x 0.6 in and mere 3.2 oz in weight. The phone is also TTY compatible and supports a number of AT&T Plan Options including AT&T Voice Plan Options, AT&T BlackBerry Plan Options, and AT&T Messaging Plan Options.
