Motorola i335 for Nextel
Motorola i335 comes in a voguish design and is an excellent basic phone with Nextel and its DirectConnect walkie-talkie plan. The i335 is an entry-level candy bar cell phone that has a rubbery finish to it. The sleek styling is a welcome deviation from the average staid designs that Moto has come out with. Its gritty construction along with exceptional color display merge with Nextel’s DirectGroup, DirectConnect, and DirectTalk services, making this Motorola i335 an ideal purchase, even if it is a low-end phone without a camera. And with GPS services and Bluetooth, the Nextel i335 offers a lot more than just a great deal on its price.

Product Description
The Moto i335 has standard military specifications and is 810 F certified. The all-weather resistant phone is strictly a base phone model, but it does have some nice features like GPS capabilities. Like any average phone, you can send and receive text and MMS messages. Apart from that, the phone is also Bluetooth enabled.
Connectivity
The Nextel Moto i335 may be operated handsfree and gives you wireless connectivity at a range of 30 feet. You can also go through Motorola’s i335 accessories to augment the phone’s functions. You can buy Bluetooth headsets and car kits that have hi-tech options so you can stay alert on the road and enhance your productivity as well. The tiny screen on the Moto i335 provides less than ideal Internet connectivity and fairly slow speeds (from Nextel network) Basically, this is a chat phone, and Internet connectivity is not one of its strengths.
Design
The i335 comes in the following dimension: 4.7" x 1.8" x 0.5" and weighs in at 3.7 ounces. The phone has a 1000mAH battery that offers 200 mns of Talk Time. It also has a 130 x 130 pixels TFT display screen and is complemented with a Mini USB port and speakerphone as well. This thin candy bar phone is IDEN, supports an internal antenna and merges traditional Nextel design with a touch of modern style. It also comes with Push to Talk functionality and Voice dialing. All said and done, the Moto i335 comes in an extremely thin, user-friendly design that is durable and offers decent features. The call quality is also a much talked about feature on this phone.
Features
The Moto i335 is outfitted to let you communicate in the worst of weather and the cell phone supports JAVA applications. You may also download applications and games and other tools to help you stay organized. Some of these functions include voice record applications that can be used as a Voice Memo, Memory Pad, and Datebook. The phone is Dual Band with iDEN 800/900, and combines a two-way radio function as well.
It looks like the i335 has skipped across the most recent market trends – a megapixel camera, 3G support, and a music/media player. And it has stuck to the nitty gritty. Though it doesn’t have a camera, the i335 more than makes up for this loss with Nextel’s standard offering of PTT services. The phone just would not be a Nextel-dedicated phone without Direct Connect walkie-talkie (an off-network service). You can link to Group Connect and chat with as many as 20 users through PTT simultaneously.
The phone comes with a 600-contact phonebook and saves room for 7 phone numbers per contact and that includes a slot for email address as well. You may also pair your contacts using 18 polyphonic ringtones. You can also make your Moto i335 uniquely yours with a slush of wallpapers, alert sounds and themes. And you can download more of these from the WAP 2.0 wireless Web browser. More than that, a TeleNav subscription service is available to you, if you’re keen on making the most of the i335’s GPS support.
You also have your mainstay of Games to choose from. The five game demos preloaded on the phone include ‘Tower Bloxx’, World Series of Poker’, ‘Midnight Pool’, ‘Pac-Man’, and Pac-Man/Ms.’
Messaging Features
The i335 offers regular Text Messaging or SMS and the option of enlisting in Nextel’s Messaging Add-on Feature. You can also use the Mobile Web Browsing feature with the OpenWave Browser along. Multimedia Messaging lets you send and receive Picture Messages providing you sign up for Nextel’s Messaging Add-on Plan Feature. The Email Client on the network supports POP/IMAP server integration for your emailing requirements.
Convenience
The keypad buttons and the navigational array have a soft tactile material on them that makes them easy to use. The single controls are rather spacious and leave a comfortable gap between them – this helps if you tend to misdial a lot. You can get your number right, if you dial in the dark with the i335 because the backlight is bright and the keys have large numbers on them.
In aggregate, the i335 may not style machine that is overtly show. Nonetheless, it gets the job done with superior call quality, an accessible design and standard Nextel network features. The i335 is certainly not the fanciest phone around, but it certainly is good for what it is. With Motorola being no stranger to coming up with rugged phones on the iDEN, the i335 is one of the slimmest handsets on Nextel’s network to date.
