The new Moto i760 from Nextel is an upgrade from the immensely popular Motorola i730. The i760 has the support for a number of Nextel’s popular services, including Direct Connect service (Walkie-talkie), and the DirectTalk Service, which is really an off-network service that provides phone-to-phone Walkie- talkie contact. This is one super phone if you want to get a lot done in very little time. With a pleasantly large 2.2” color display merged with specially extended battery life, incredible quality on the speakerphone and even an external display, you just can’t go wrong with the Moto i760.

Advanced features on the i760
The advanced features on the i760 include GPS services with preloaded Telenav. This feature provides audible Turn by turn directions while driving. However, it requires additional services other than your basic Nextel plan.
The phone also hooks up to your PC as a modem. You can obtain the Software from Nextel for this data capable feature. You can also synch your Moto to the PC using sync.
One of the major pluses of the i760 on the Nextel network is that its Walkie Talkie is usable both on and off the network. The i760 comes with a mode for air travel as well. Whether on land or in the air, this is one phone that gets the job done on Nextel’s Direct Connect service. The phone is also touted for its extended battery life and comes with an external display as well – a workhorse of a cell phone indeed.

As far as entertainment goes, the i760 allows you to group your calls using Polyphonic Ringtones and you can also make your own customized Ringtones. However, the major difference between the two would be the i760 comes in a blue and silver color rather than the traditional black and grey of the i850. The Lithium Ion battery on the i760 offers a Talk Time of 165 min and Standby Time of 70 hours. It also doubles as a two-way radio. The Multimedia features on the phone include Games, Ringtones, and Wallpapers. The i760 is hearing aid compatible.

Highlights
The Moto i760 is durable and has a nice display, and is fairly easy to navigate. Essentially, the phone is an upgrade from the i560 and is similar to the Nextel Motorola i850. It is also a replacement for the ever-popular Moto i730. However, one difference is that the i760 does not include a camera.
Although the i760 is a basic phone, it does support Ringtones in the popular MP3 format and comes fitted with the Openwave mobile web browser. When combined with Nextel’s network features, this phone is clearly a winner in the mid to low range cell phone category. Apart from that, the i760 comes with excellent signal strength and is rugged enough to take some serious abuse. How great is that!!
