The languages supported on this phone include English, Spanish, and Portuguese. You can also record voice tags for phone book entries on this cool Smartphone using Voice-activated Dialing.
Some of the regular features found on most average phones are not excluded from this Smartphone. For instance, the To-Do List adds to the organizing capacity of this phone since many people who own a cell phone would want to jot down events and tasks. And this is a great way to remind yourself indeed. If you need to, you can even set an alarm as a reminder to make sure you don’t forget those high priority tasks on a daily basis. The color of the Epix i907 is silver, and has the option of using a Voice Memo. The style on this phone is either a PDA or Candy Bar style. And you can rest assured you’ll get some service on repairs with Samsung’s full one year warranty for the Epix Black. The phone also has a calculator, making it easy for you to keep track of your bills and budgeting as well. The speakerphone is also a nice addition and could allow you to save some money on your bills, since it allows several people to talk into the mouthpiece at once.
The Calendar on the phone deserves some mention as it is a MS Outlook Calendar that can be Sync’d Over-the-air or via Bluetooth or USB Cable. The phone also supports Meeting Requests and has a Vibrate to let you take your calls in a silent mode.
When it comes to advanced features, the Samsung Epix has its fair share of top notch features. Among them is Attachment Viewing support for Word, Excel, or PowerPoint. This is a fantastic function for users who work on the go. With more and more employees telecommuting from home, or traveling to overseas destinations, functions like attachment viewing play a big role in the popularity of a Smartphone. The Epix utilizes Microsoft Windows Pocket Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe PDF Viewing Software and the best part is that it’s all built-in so you won’t have to worry about extra cash. Some phones require extra software for these applications.
Of course, the Voice-driven Menus are a plus and allow you to train your phone to come up with more than a dozen applications just by using voice commands. PC Synchronization is a nice feature to have on your phone as it reduces redundancies, and you can bet that this Samsung has it. And the software and USB Cable are also included. Additionally, you can also Sync Over-the-air With Microsoft ActiveSync and the phone also comes with a text to speech application that lets you listen to your emails and documents read out loud.
Bluetooth Wireless Technology and GPS
Also showing its presence in the Smartphone frontline is Bluetooth Wireless Technology. The i907 makes use of v2.0 Handsfree, Headset and is DUN, OPP, HID Profiles supported. The QWERTY Keyboard on the Epix is just superb with backlighting and refined ergonomics. The phone is totally upgradeable and its carrier AT&T permits the device to upgrade to latest Windows Mobile OS at a later date. In addition, the Epix i907 has GPS Services support, great for driving enthusiasts. The Built-in GPS Radio and Telenav GPS Navigator offering audible turn-by-turn directions will ensure that you don’t get lost no matter where you go.
It also has a Bluetooth Stereo Headset with A2DP and AVRC profiles supported. This will allow you to comfortably stream stereo music to compatible Bluetooth devices. And the i907 is also Data Capable, which means that you can also use it as a modem. The Software and USB Cable are included in the phone package and all you would require is the Data Connect Feature.
The digital camera has to be the most touted feature on most Smartphones because it eliminates the need for lugging around an ordinary digital camera. This can often be very heavy and cumbersome, particularly if you’re traveling far from home. The camera on the Epix is 2 Megapixel, 4x Digital Zoom, Multi-Shot, and even has a Self-timer so you can take photos of yourself. The Video Capture / Camcorder is also a highly appealing function for many young users as it allows you to capture all the memorable occasions in your life. The video memory is only limited by the available memory and if you have a data card, you can store what is technically infinite amounts of memory. The phone offers H.263 and MPEG4 support as well.
