Samsung Rant M540 design
The snazzy Purple color and comfortable 2.1 inches display screen with a resolution of 176x 220 pixels make the Samsung rant M540 appear promising from the very first look. However, the real surprise is when you start exploring it. Apart from the usual numeric keypad on the front body, the phone whips out a side sliding QWERTY keypad, protected at the centre. With special back-lit keys, it is ideal for fast and accurate messaging, especially at night, in airplanes, subways etc. The display screen comes with this unique ability to automatically align itself according to the numeric keypad, or the side sliding QWERTY keypad.
The phone is TTY and hearing aid compatible (rated T3 and M3) making it an optimal communication tool even for the hearing impaired. It runs on the JAVA MIDP 2.0 platform for smaller programs like games.
Connectivity
The Samsung Rant M540 is fully Bluetooth enabled. It supports headset and handsfree with PBAP, GOEP, SDAP, FUN, FTP and other profiles. The stereo headphones (A2DP) are ideal for hands free conversations and grooving to your favorite tunes. The phone comes with a 2.5 mm headset jack to plug your headphones.
The GPS support with Sprint location based services means that you no longer have to stop for directions every few minutes or try and figure out complicated maps. You get easy step-by step and turn by turn comprehensive directions to any programmable destination.
You can also synchronize your phone easily with your PC to transfer memos, calendars, contacts, music, pictures etc. (USB cable and software sold separately).
Sprint One-click interface
The phone also features Sprint’s one click interface that lets you customize your home screen with 8 programmable shortcuts.
