The Sony Ericsson W518a is a flip style phone that has music written all over it. In a Mineral Black color, the outer phone body has a monochrome display to keep track of time, battery, signal, call and message alerts, and song details when the music player is on. The phone also has iPod style control keys on the outside, so you can access the music player right away. When you flip it open, the phone has a 2.2 inches LCD display with over 262,000 colors in QVGA TFT display and great resolution, so you can just stare at the screen for hours.
The alphanumeric keypad has nice spacious circular keys, which are comfortable on your fingers, and let you type accurately. The main navigation button again has shortcuts to the music player, so you can play and change your songs easily.
On the sides of the phone, you have the Sony Ericsson proprietary port for charging, USB and headset, as well as volume controls and Lock keys for the touch-sensitive music controls on the external body. The phone runs on the Java system for most programs for optimized performance. It is TTY and gearing aid compatible, making it an ideal communication tool. You also have the option of storing multiple numbers with every contact so you have all the details in one place.
Music Features
The phone has special music control keys both on the external body and on the navigation control key inside. There are a lot of comprehensive music options on the phone that let you do a lot. The Walkman 3.0 is the main feature that plays your songs and offers you a host of other options in turn like the XM radio, Shop Music etc. the screen also displays the album artwork, artist details etc when a song is playing.
